Gadget Rocks, or so we've been toldGadget, or "Gah-jeet" as they are also known, consist of Hadley J who dabbles on keyboards when she wants to, Philby Nottingham III plays backward guitar, MAN drinks it up on bass and Keith King taunts his drums into saying things they shouldn't say.
Everybody sings as is necessary, but Hadley and Philby do most of it. Gadget as a band exists only the minds of fans now, but as a concept, Gadget lives on. Of the nearly three dozen songs that the band churned out during its live gig period, only seven have ever been recorded. Gadget's sound has often been discussed, most often by the band members themselves. In these discussions influences, like musical theater, bad improv, just about every Sit-Com on TV, soup, chocolate, beer, lots of beer and fun. above all, fun. If it wasn't fun, Gadget didn't do it. The band has tackled some edgy subjects in their songs, like palm readers, the Chinese art of Feng |
Shui, the mentally handicapped and getting laid at a wedding. "Laffing when you're singing isn't as easy as it sounds."
If it seems like Gadget is a band that will live on forever, you might have a point there. Then again this could open the discussion on how we define the word "forever" and how individual viewpoints might not match up here. |
